Kenneth L. Young, 73, of the Chicora Medical Center died Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 29, 1933, in Butler, he was a son of George P. Sr. and Mildred Fisher Young.

He was a graduate of Butler High School and had been a buyer for American Hardware.

Mr. Young was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, the VFW Post 249, the American Legion 117 and the Slovak Sokol Society in Lyndora

He enjoyed gardening.

During the Korean War, he served in the Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Donna M. Mahood Young, whom he married Dec. 27, 1955; two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Christine) McGarrah of Butler, and Mrs. Glenn (Victoria) Lines of Madagascar; two sisters, Mrs. Joanne Gerner and Mrs. Helen Fleeger, both of Butler; and five grandchildren, Rachel and Andrew Goettler, Adrianna and Tristan McGarrah, and Elijah Lines.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. George P. Young Jr., and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Schreffler.
