Segraves

Conley Harold "Weeds" Segraves Sr., 78, of Saxonburg died Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia Lutheran Services, Cabot.

Born Nov. 29, 1928, in Grassy Creek, N.C., he was the son of Antone Ward Segraves and Lura Blevins Segraves.

He was a jockey, trainer and horse breeder and managed Saxony Farms in Saxonburg, which owned Keystone Stables.

Mr. Segraves was a member of the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church. He also belonged to the Pennsylvania Horse Breeders Association, the City Farmers Club, the Victory Lodge 694 F&AM, the New Castle Consistory, the Syria Shrine and the Saxony Shrine Club.

Surviving are his wife, Marcia Risch Segraves; a son, Conley Harold Segraves Jr. of Saxonburg; a daughter, Jill Marie Segraves of Arlington, Va.; three brothers, James and Miles Segraves, both of Forest Hill, Md., and Charles Segraves of St. Charles, Ill.; and a sister, Virginia Choate of Oakland, Md.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Nancy Lee Rudert Segraves; a brother, David Segraves, and a sister Kitty Conners.

<B>SEGRAVES</B> — Friends of Conley Harold "Weeds" Segraves Sr., who died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Brewer officiating.
