SLIPPERY ROCK — A bike safety rodeo for students in kindergarten through grade 6 will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday outside the State Farm insurance agency of Harry Liederbach, 125 Franklin St.

Sponsored by State Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-10th, Liederbach and McDonald's, the event will include bike safety information and an obstacle course. Participants should take their bikes and helmets. For details, contact Megan Rummel at 724-794-1215.

EVANS CITY — The summer reading program at the Evans City Public Library, 204 S. Jackson St., will begin Monday and continue through June 20.Children participating should register at the library to pick up materials. Titles will be awarded to the Little Miss and Mr. Butler County, open to children ages 3 to 7; Young Miss and Mr. Butler County, open to youth ages 8 to 12; and Teen Miss and Mr. Butler County, for teen girls ages 13 to 16 and teen boys ages 13 to 17.Butler County residency is not required for entry.
