Summerhill

Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven II resident Alice Summerhill, formerly of North Apollo, celebrated her 90th birthday with a family reception May 12 in the Haven II activity room.

Summerhill was born in West Deer Township on May 9, 1917. She has several nieces including Alberta Altmeyer of Westmoreland, Bonnie Shuster of Vandergrift and Jo Marie McKruit of Cabot, who helped plan her birthday celebration.

Before retiring in 1980, she was employed for 45 years by the Leechburg Mining Company as a paymaster. She is a member at North Apollo Church of God and the Massy Harbison — Fort Hand Chapter of the American Daughters of the Revolution.

Mrs. Summerhill enjoys genealogy. Her past hobbies include reading and travel.
