Stamman

Concordia Lutheran Ministries Haven II resident Emma Stamman, formerly of Hendersonville, N.C., celebrated her 90th birthday with a family party May 21 at her residence.

The former Emma Arp was born May 21, 1917, in Hardwick, Minn. She married Wilbur Stamman on June 3, 1940, at her parents' farm in Hardwick.

She has three children, Virginia Rutz of Columbus, Ohio; David Stamman of Grove City, Ohio; and Dean Stamman of Exton. She also has four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Prior to her retirement in 1979, Mrs. Stamman worked for 13 years at J.C. Penney. A homemaker, she was also active in the Girl Scouts of America and the Cub Scouts.

Mrs. Stamman belongs to St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot. While living in Ohio, she served as a Sunday school teacher and member of the Altar Guild. She enjoys reading and playing cards.
