This physical education demonstration at Center Avenue School on Thursday, May 20, 1965, included 600 students under the direction of Dorothy Yochem, physical education teacher for Butler School District's elementary schools. A similar program was held the week before at Emily Brittain. Participating students wore white shirts and carried red, white and blue streamers on their wrists. Forming human pyramids, like the ones shown here, were among the variety of demonstrations Yochem had planned. Francis Nowicki was principal at Center Avenue.
