Tuesday — Police completed their investigation into an April 17 crash that occurred when a Butler woman was struck by a car on Center Avenue.Jacqueline McCoy, 42, of Center Avenue had walked onto the road about 9:55 p.m. to retrieve the remains of her dog that had been previously struck by another vehicle, and she was struck by a Toyota Prius driven by David Gardner, 51, of Clymer, N.Y.Gardner told police he first saw an animal laying in his northbound lane. He did not see McCoy until he swerved to avoid the animal. He said he did not have time to apply his brakes, and struck the woman.McCoy was flown by medical helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh where she was treated for injuries.The police report noted Gardner had been drinking prior to the crash. He gave a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.06 percent, which was below the state's 0.08 percent blood-alcohol limit.A blood test showed McCoy had a 0.03 percent blood-alcohol level.Police cited Gardner for driving with a suspended license.6:30 p.m. Sunday — Lauren Raposa, 20, of Cranberry Township suffered minor injuries when a bicycle she was riding collided with a vehicle at Mercer and Cleveland streets.Police, however, have not identified the vehicle or the driver.Raposa told officers that she was eastbound on Cleveland Street when her bike struck the rear of a green sport utility vehicle at the Mercer Street intersection. The woman was knocked to the ground.Raposa said there were a man and woman in the vehicle. The driver stopped and gave the injured woman a ride to a friend's house, but then left. Raposa could provide no other information about the vehicle or its occupants.Police said Raposa later went to Butler Memorial Hospital where she was treated.

8:15 p.m. Saturday — A Slippery Rock man told police he was assaulted at a Cupps Road home in Connoquenessing Township. The alleged victim said he knows his attackers, a man and woman, who punched him and pulled his hair. Police said the investigation continues.

4:05 p.m. Tuesday — A box truck driven by William Schwalm, 58, of Penn Township, Butler County, and a sport utility vehicle driven by Brenda Thompson, 45, of New Castle collided on Route 208 near Dean Road in Scott Township, Lawrence County.Thompson, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a possible broken arm. Police cited Schwalm for careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.

8:50 a.m. May 16 — An employee reported for the second consecutive night the theft of copper wire, valued at $1,000, from Union Chill Mat in the industrial park at Route 588 West.5:18 p.m. May 16 — A vehicle driven by Victor Hugo Lopez, 17, of 238 Perry Highway Unit 200, Harmony, was traveling on South Main Street when 7-year-old Andrew Funovits of 203 Farm View Court, Cranberry Township, was crossing mid-block with his father, Alan, and brother, Philip. Police said, the boy accidentally darted into the side of the car. The child hit the driver's side mirror causing it to flex and smash the window. Funovits had a bruised right hip. Emergency medical personnel were not dispatched to the scene, but police indicated the boy's father was going to take his son to a hospital for evaluation.3:58 p.m. May 15 — An employee at Union Chill Mat in the industrial park at Route 588 West, reported the theft of copper wire, valued at $3,000.
