Joshua Patrick Widenhofer
Joshua Patrick Widenhofer, 27, of Cleveland died Friday at his home after an extended battle with cancer.
Born May 21, 1979, in Butler, he was the son of William Armstrong and Susan Ann Widenhofer Kerry.
He lived in Butler for the first nine years of his life. After moving to Michigan, he met his wife, Kristen. They were high school sweethearts and married shortly after high school and began pursuing degrees in culinary arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania Academy of Culinary Arts in Punxsutawney.
He was well liked by both staff and students. He made memorable impressions on most people he met in school. He graduated with honors and worked at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Cleveland.
While living in Cleveland, he continued to raise a family with Kristin. He enjoyed living in the Cleveland area but never forgot his roots. He always wore his Pittsburgh Steelers jersey for games against the Cleveland Browns.
He enjoyed spending time with his wife and daughters, going to the library and taking everyone to Chuck E. Cheese's. He was a music lover. He loved to cook impromptu dinners for his family and spend an evening dancing and singing.
He also enjoyed Bible study and was following the path his Lord had called upon him to follow when he was stricken with his illness.
He is survived by his wife, Kristin Widenhofer; two daughters, Patience, 2, and Grace, 2 months, all of Cleveland; his father of Los Angeles; his mother of Parker; his grandmother, Veronica M. Widenhofer Dunmire of Butler; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ralph Patrick Widenhofer; an uncle, Ralph Patrick Widenhofer Jr., and several great-uncles and great-aunts.
