Fontaine Graham was crowned the North Washington Volunteer Fire Department's 2007 Rodeo Queen during the annual pageant held April 29.Graham, 17, is the daughter of Ralph and B.J. Graham of Butler.A senior at Butler High School, she serves as co-captain of the cross country team and the rifle team and is a member of the track team and Latin Club.Outside of school, Graham is a member of the National Rifle Association, 4-H, the Tarentum Sportsman's Club and the Western Pennsylvania Quarter Horse Association. She is also a Rawhide Rough Rider for the Rawhide Rodeo Company.Graham will serve as an ambassador for the annual North Washington Rodeo, which will be held Aug. 14 through 18.———
<B>Cub Scout Pack 482</B> and the <B>Circle Round 4-H Club </B>were recognized as winners in the 2007 Milton W. DeLancey Youth Awards Contest of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors at the Butler County Convention held recently at the Butler Country Club.Pack 482 received the award for organizing a landscaping project at Connoquenessing Elementary School, where the pack beautified the area around an engraved stone and restored the area around an overgrown sign at the side of the school.The Circle Round 4-H Club received the award for completing a number of community service projects, including making arts and crafts for senior citizens and beanbags for autistic children; staffing the petting zoo at the Butler Fair; visiting disabled senior citizens and helping them make crafts and sew coasters; and visiting residents at a local nursing home.PSATS Executive Director R. Keith Hite presented framed certificates to members of the two groups during the annual convention. The groups already received a cash award of $250 each.
