Tuesday — Police cited Justin M. Green, 24, of Butler for passing a pair of bad checks totaling $245.82 on April 28 and 29 at Friedman's market on West Brady Street.2:38 a.m. Sunday — Justin A. Smith, 19, of Pittsburgh was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Main Street hill. Police also cited Smith for driving without headlights on and underage drinking.
6:30 a.m. Monday — A purse was found along Route 38 near Hunter's Truck Sales in Summit Township. Police noted the purse contained several items with the name Thelma Coleman. Anyone with information about the property is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.Sunday — Three large metal drain grates were stolen between Friday and Sunday on South Noah Drive, east of Victory Drive in Clinton Township. Police said the replacement cost for each grate is $300.
10:27 p.m. Sunday — Two suspected shoplifters were arrested after a security guard allegedly caught them trying to steal more than $464 in merchandise from the Wal-Mart store at Butler Commons.Charged with retail theft are Cory Jordan, 25, of Hollywood, Fla., and Darlene Blankenship, 41, of Phoenix. Both defendants were arraigned on charges and placed in the Butler County Prison in $10,000 bond each.
May 7 — A burglar stole undisclosed property between 9:30 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. after breaking into the Walker Farm Road home of Sharon Bowser in Toby Township, Clarion County.
