Marian A. McGarvey, 88, of Butler died at 5:20 a.m. Wedn-esday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Born July 18, 1918, in North Washington, she was the daughter of John and Wilda Morris Day.

She was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. McGarvey was a graduate of The Butler Business College and had worked for the Pennsylvania Highway Department for five years before meeting the love of her life, Robert M. McGarvey.

Surviving are two sons, Robert M. and Marilyn McGarvey of Liberty Township, Ohio, and William J. and Joan McGarvey of Butler; six grandchildren, Todd and Pamela McGarvey of West Chester, Ohio, Jeffrey and Beth McGarvey of Cincinnati, Susan and William Justice of Atlanta, Regina and Eric Dull of Wheaton, Md., and Sarah and Scott Rattigan and Megan McGarvey, all of Butler; and six great-grandchildren.

She also is survived by two brothers, Charles and Mary Agnes Day and Joe Earl Day, all of Butler; a sister-in-law, Virginia Day of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. McGarvey, who died March 24, 1982; three brothers, Carl, Jack and Merle Day; and an infant brother, Eugene Day.

<B>MCGARVEY</B> — Friends of Marian A. McGarvey, who died Wednesday, April 11, 2007. will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with her church pastor, the Rev. John Porter, officiating.
