God's hand reached out to Nellie M. Koegler at age 86 on April 8, 2007, and led her out of the Earth's dark shadow and pain to her heavenly home.

Born Jan. 3, 1921, in Cabot, she was the daughter of William and Lydia Paul Koegler.

She had been a housekeeper for the Maurice Berman household prior to her stroke in 1977 and a faithful servant and member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot.

She is survived by a sister, Helen Bornemann of Oviedo, Fla.; a brother, Paul Koegler of Columbus, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and her dear friends and caregivers, Mary and Glenn Freehling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Ruth Brewer, Margaret Strauser and Esther Succop; and a brother, William Koegler.

Koegler, who died Sunday, April 8, 2007, will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot, where the funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev.
