11:53 p.m. Monday — James McPaul, 43, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after he was found eating a pizza in a parked car, with its key in the ignition, in front of Cammisa's Auto Body on North Monroe Street.A witness told police he had earlier seen McPaul drive the car into landscaping ties in front of the building, but no damage was reported. The same witness also saw the defendant allegedly throw garbage into Cammisa's parking lot and urinate on another vehicle.In additional to DUI, police cited McPaul for driving without a license, disorderly conduct and scattering rubbish.1:14 a.m. Saturday — David Lee McCullough, 18, of Oakland Township was arrested following a foot chase with police that ended with the teen falling into a creek.A patrol officer noticed McCullough get out of a car near a home in the 500 block of Virginia Avenue. Several other people were in the street outside the house being loud. The teen ran from the car and refused police orders to stop.Three officers chased McCullough, who jumped several fences and ran onto West Wayne Street and into woods behind the Butler Eagle Printery before falling into a creek.Officers, with guns drawn, ordered the teen to walk back through the creek to where they were standing. He was arrested and given an alcohol breath test.The test results, according to a police report, showed McCullough's blood-alcohol level at 0.159 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Police said McCullough faces charges of public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and underage drinking.
1:06 a.m. Wednesday — Jason Jude Smith, 28, of Evans City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at New Castle Road and Greenwood Drive.7:20 a.m. Tuesday — No one was injured when fire broke out in the engine compartment of a dump truck stopped at a traffic light at Whitestown and South Eberhart roads. Patrick Stevenson, 26, of Butler was driving the truck, owned by Milich Construction of Franklin Township.
7:43 a.m. Wednesday — A mini-van driven by Richard Wojdowski, 58, of Valencia and a car driven by Kimberly Bottles, 40, of Butler collided on Route 8 in Middlesex Township. The van, following the collision, rolled onto its side and slid about 50 feet.Wojdowski, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. He was cited for careless driving.Monday — A Compaq computer and a Hewlett-Packard printer were stolen between April 10 and Monday in a burglary at the Hindman Lane home of Marci Ann Welton in Venango Township. The stolen property is valued at $700.
Tuesday — About $160 in currency and coins was stolen between 5 p.m. Monday and 8:15 a.m. Tuesday in a burglary at MacKinlay's Barber Shop on Main Street in Rimersburg, Clarion County.
7:30 p.m. Monday — Ryan Flack, 28, of Greensburg was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 422 at the Citgo station in Worthington, Armstrong County.
