Brant's latest homer helps Knights top Talbots

Kristen Brant homered again and Zoe Hughes went 4-for-4 as the Knoch softball team routed Highlands 9-3 Wednesday.

Brant hit her third home run in two games and drove in three runs for the Knights (12-4, 9-4).

Hughes had a triple to go with three singles, and Chelsea Martin struck out 12 in the win.

In other games:

• Samantha Bly homered and Brandi Dunkle struck out seven in seven innings as Karns City took a 5-3 win from Clarion-Limestone.

The Gremlins (9-2, 8-0) will face unbeaten Rocky Grove on the road today.

• Morgan Robinson fanned eight batters and allowed only five hits, but Slippery Rock fell Wilmington 2-0.

• Eight fielding errors doomed A-C Valley in a 6-1 loss to Clarion.
