BUTLER TWP — Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will host a game event from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday to benefit Nothing but Nets, a campaign purchasing anti-malaria bed nets for children in Africa. Net-themed games will be available for children and teens for $10 an hour.

In addition to the games, the Greater Gifts and Hope in Store shop of fairly traded handcrafts and food items will be open.

CENTER TWP — Amother/daughter banquet celebrating mother's day will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road.Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for children. The event will include dinner, a speaker, prizes and nursery care, if needed. For reservations, call 724-282-0230.

CRANBERRY TWP — State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, R-12th will host a senior expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Cranberry Township Municipal Building, 2525 Rochester Road.The event will feature more than 50 vendors from state and private agencies.For details, call 724-772-3110 or visit www.RepMetcalfe.com.

These benefit dinners will be held this weekend:• The Someone's Caring Grief Support Group of Thompson-Miller Funeral Home will host a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Tanglewood Center, 10 Austin Ave., Lyndora. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for youth ages 5 to 12 and free for children younger than 5.Tickets are available at the Dunbar Center, May's Music Store, Thompson-Miller Funeral Home and at the door. Proceeds benefit the children and youth programs at the Paul Laurence Dunbar Community Center.• A spaghetti dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. May 5 at Crestview Community Church, 210 Kline Ave., Callery, to benefit Justin Spurk, who was paralyzed after an automobile accident in January.The dinner is sponsored by Helping Hands of Callery. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $4 for children.

FRANKLIN TWP — An indoor flea market and auction will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Chestnut Nazarene District Center, 177 North Road.The auction starts at 2 p.m. Food and baked goods will be sold. Proceeds will buy electric scooters to help the elderly and disabled visiting the campgrounds.School musicians hold spring concertsThe following schools have spring concerts:• Rimersburg schools will host a concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for the elementary band, high school woodwind quintet and the high school jazz band. Admission is free and donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted at the door to benefit area food banks.• Dassa McKinney Elementary will host a spring concert and art show at 7 p.m. May 3 in the high school auditorium, West Sunbury Road, Cherry Township.The art show will precede the concert at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium lobby. Admission is free.
