Hoye

John Hoye of Plain Grove Township will celebrate his 90th birthday with an open house from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Plain Grove Presbyterian Church, 626 Plain Grove Road, Plain Grove Township.

Hoye was born in 1917. He married Blanche Gardner on May 2, 1940. She is deceased.

He has three children, Clarence Hoye of Cortland, Ohio; Lois McConnell of Volant and Donald Hoye of New Wilmington.

Hoye worked as a farmer and Jersey Cattle Breeder for more than 70 years.

He has been a member of the Jersey Cattle Club, the Lawrence County Fair Board, Lawrence County Conservation Board, local and county school boards and Plain Grove Presbyterian Church boards. He was also active in Lawrence County granges.
