Nicholas Norante

Norante

Nicholas J. Norante, 82, of Butler died Monday at UPMC Passavant hospital.

Born July 2, 1924, in Paterson, N.J., he was the son of Daniel and Lillian Mosso Norante.

He served with the Army in Europe during World War II.

Mr. Norante received his bachelor's and master's degrees in ceramics from Rutgers University and had worked in the ceramics industry for 50 years. He retired from Du-Co Ceramics in Saxonburg as a vice president of sales after 30 years.

He attended St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of the Butler Country Club and was on the board of the Butler County Endowment Fund.

He enjoyed fishing, travel and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Keltz Norante, whom he married April 11, 1953; two sons, Nicholas J. Norante Jr. of Butler and Frank K. Norante and his wife, J.J., of Minneapolis and Las Vegas; two daughters, Christine (Robert) Weyant of Wexford and Virginia (Robert) Schmidt of Twinsburg, Ohio; a brother, Dr. John D. Norante of Rochester, N.Y.; and two sisters, Louise (Mero) Nocenti of Franklin Lakes, N.J., and Genevieve Norante of Rahway, N. J.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Laura J. and Robert J. Weyant and Nicholas M. Norante.

<B>Norante </B>— Friends of Nicholas J. Norante, who died Monday, March 26, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>Fox Funeral Home Inc.</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
