Everett McBride
Everett McBride, 75, of 822 Georgetown Road, Harrisville, died at 12:10 a.m. Sunday at the Grove City Medical Center after a long illness.
Born May 22, 1931, in Irwin Township, Venango County, he was the son of Nelson E. Sr. and Lucille R. Buckley McBride.
He had attended the Walters and Jones public schools in Irwin Township.
Mr. McBride was the owner/operator of the Everett McBride Sawmill for 47 years in the Venango, Butler and Mercer county areas. He also owned his own trucks for delivery and drove for four years after his retirement to deliver lumber to and from saw mills.
He enjoyed the lumberman carnivals held throughout different areas and watching sawmill and logging movies about his profession. He also enjoyed gardening and canning.
Surviving are his wife, Hilda M. Wilt McBride, whom he married Aug. 12, 1950; four children, Lonny L. McBride and his wife, Nina, of Grove City, Phillip N. McBride and his wife, Pam, of Franklin, Mrs. Kevin (Sally M.) Mahood of Stafford, Va., and Jody S. McBride and companion, Vickie Fennell, of Clintonville; seven grandchildren, Phillip Donald McBride and his wife, Teresa, of Strattanville, Jennifer R. Rupp and her husband, Joshua, of Shippenville, Michael J. McBride and his wife, Rebecca, of Indianapolis, Tiffany L. MacDonald and her husband, Gary, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Melissa Duffie and her husband, Sean, of Stafford, Va., Mark A. McBride of Harrisville, and Tabitha J. McBride of Franklin; and three great-grandchildren, Loraine L. McBride of Strattanville, Taylor J. Rupp of Shippenville and Savanah M. Duffie of Stafford.
He also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Richard E. (Ester A.) Vogan of Harrisville and Mrs. Calvin (Joyce) Stevens of Saegertown; and three brothers, Dale McBride and his wife, Janet, and William McBride and his wife, Carol, all of Harrisville, and Victor McBride and his wife, Barbara, of Jamestown, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by a son, Everett McBride Jr.; a grandson, Cory McBride; a son-in-law, Kevin Mahood; two sisters, Mrs. Chester (Marjorie) McMurdy and Mrs. Milton (Edna) Haag, and three brothers, Walter, Ernest and Nelson Jr. McBride.
<B>MCBRIDE </B>— Friends of Everett McBride, who died Sunday, March 25, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home</B>, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville. Funeral and committal services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Chris Clark, pastor of the Chapel on the Hill of Emlenton and the Rev. Roy Tilton, pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy in Karns City, officiating. Burial will be at the Peters Chapel Cemetery, Irwin Township.
