Joyce A. Carpenter, 56, of Pine Street died at 7:30 a.m. Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Nov. 14, 1950, in Martinsburg, W. Va., she was the daughter of Joseph Keyton and Dolores Anderson.

Mrs. Carpenter was a licensed practical nurse and worked in a dialysis and trauma unit in Norfolk, Va. She also was a licensed beautician.

She attended St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Butler Chapter 45 Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are her husband, John E. Carpenter, whom she married Feb. 14, 1980; a daughter, Audra Keyton of Fairchance, Fayette County; a son, Stephen Montgomery of Butler, and seven grandchildren.
