HARMONY — The Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church, 123 N. Pittsburgh St., will host its annual Community Gospel Concert at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The free concert will feature church choirs in the Zelienople and Harmony area.

The concert is an effort to support community and church values through sacred music.

The Butler County Symphony Orchestra's final concert of the 58th season will begin at 8 p.m. April 28 at the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium.Carla Osborne and Bryan Helsel will give a duo piano performance.In advance, reserved seat tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students, available at the symphony office, 259 S. Main St., between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. At the door, tickets will be $18 and $9, respectively.Call the symphony office at 724-283-1402 for more information.

The Butler High Aquaettes present "Fire and Ice" at 7:30 p.m. tonight and Saturday in the Butler Senior High School pool. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $4 for students and will be available at the door.Aquaettes is a synchronized swimming group made up of 33 girls in which the swimmers perform choreographed maneuvers to music.There are also 10 "Aquastuds." They perform several lifts in a boy/girl number and help with other routines and skits throughout the show.The show this year will consist of 20 numbers or routines from various levels of Aquaettes. All music for the show has been selected with the theme of temperature, featuring "hot" songs at the beginning of the show and the "cooling" off in the second part. The opening number will be Buster Poindexter's "Hot, Hot Hot."There are six seniors in the group: Megan Bauer, Samantha Blackwell, Sarah Boggs, Callie Hindman, Brittany Lynn and Amber Thompson.

The Associated Artists of Butler County has put out an open call for fiber arts for a "Threads" exhibit planned for Aug. 3 to 31.Deadline is July 20. Juror is Barbara Westman, an international fiber artist and teacher. Cost of entry is $20 for up to 10 pieces.The opening reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug 3 at The AABC Art Center, 344 S. Main St. The opening reception is free and open to the public; light refreshments will be served.Gallery hours are noon to 6 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, noon to 9 p.m. Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Through a creative teaching grant from the Butler Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation and through monies from the Victor K. Phillips Endowment, choral students in the fifth and sixth grades at McQuistion Elementary School will be performing a musical, "The Jungle Book KIDS," licensed through Disney."The Jungle Book KIDS" performance for the community will be given in conjunction with the McQuistion instrumental students concert at 7 p.m. May 8 at Butler Intermediate High School.

Two Butler County students, Julia McGuire and Emily Bintrim, will be performing with the Children's Festival Chorus during their Sweet Sounds of Spring Concert.They will be performing with Kim Nazzarian, a Grammy award-winning jazz vocalist. The performance is set for 4 p.m. May 6 at the Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland.Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for senior citizens and students. For tickets, contact ProArts at 412-394-3353.

GROVE CITY — Grove City Theatre Arts Guild (GCTAG) will hold auditions for the children's show "Wizard of Oz" from 6 to 9 p.m. April 26 at East Main Church, 120 East Main St.Auditions are open to children ages 8 to 12.
