Knoch junior tennis star Brandon Anandan swept through Monday's action in the WPIAL Class AA individual tennis tournament at Lakevue Racquet Club in Valencia.

And he's now one win away from a district title.

The No. 1 seed, Anandan had no problem dispatching Thomas Jefferson's Matt DiLucia and Mount Pleasant's Andrew Cenkner, defeating both of them by a score of 10-1 in a pro-set format.

In the semifinals, Sewickley Academy's Matt Hoch was no match for Anandan, losing in consecutive sets 6-1, 6-1.

"He's used to playing here (Lakevue)," said Knoch coach Tom Gammell. "His serve is very good, especially indoors."

Anandan will face Quaker Valley's Alex Sinu in the WPIAL final at 1 p.m. today at Lakevue.

Paige Macadaeg scored three goals and Hannah Zibert made 17 saves to help Knoch to a 10-8 win at Greensburg Salem, the first win in school history.Also scoring in the win were Hillary Rihn (2 goals), Megan Seger, Krissy Harbison, Jessica Protzman, Erin Lewis and Suzanne Thomasmeyer.
