10:20 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by Leon Capone Jr., 68, of Syracuse, N.Y., struck an embankment and rolled over several times before landing on its wheels on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Capone, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.4:20 p.m. Tuesday — Gregory Alan Brown, 48, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 8 near Church Road in Penn Township. Police also charged Brown with possession of marijuana.1:30 p.m. March 24 — Paul Samek, 49, of Petrolia was arrested for suspicion of DUI at routes 38 and 138 in Washington Township.
Thursday — Police reported that someone stole a .44-caliber Ruger pistol and $200 in currency in a burglary at the Sarver Road home of Todd Illwig in South Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.
11:22 a.m. Wednesday — The Lakeview Middle-High School in Sandy Lake Township, Mercer County, was evacuated after a bomb threat was found on a note in the seventh grade boys' bathroom.Bomb detecting dogs were used to search the building after students were evacuated. Police said nothing was found and classes resumed a short time later.Police have no suspects but authorities said the investigation continues.
