11:25 a.m. Friday — George Weston Atwell, 37, of 117 E. North St. was arrested for retail theft after stealing four packages of nasal decongestant totaling $24.2:25 a.m. Friday — Shawn Schultz, 21, of Herman Road was driving southbound on Center Avenue near East Boyd Avenue when he lost control of his 1991 Toyota, which crossed into the northbound lane, left the road and struck a retaining wall, becoming wedged between the wall and a utility pole.11:09 p.m. Thursday — Charles Turner, 46, of Game- lands Road, Chicora, was charged with careless driving after the Chevrolet Silverado truck he was driving struck a utility pole at the intersection of East Jefferson Street and Kittanning Street. Turner said at the time of the crash he was trying to make a cellular phone call.His truck veered off the road and struck the pole, severing it.The accident partially closed the road for less than an hour.8:30 p.m. Tuesday — Janette Alice Stitt, 55, of Ford City said her vehicle was sideswiped by one driven by Alexander Stehlik, 18, of 415 N. Main St., at the intersection of North Main and Penn streets. Stehlik, who fled the scene, was found a few blocks away by police and charged with damage to an attended vehicle and driving under suspension.10:11 a.m. Friday — A truck driven by Dennis Wise, 51, of Grove City struck a utility pole and an embankment in the yard of 236 E. Muntz Ave.9:36 a.m. March 30 — An unknown vehicle struck a Buick Century owned by Heriberto Perez of Third Avenue while it was parked on the street during the night. The accident damaged the car's front fender and knocked off the mirror.

1 p.m. Thursday — Aleisha Marie Grates, 25, and Kami Diana Hirst, 29, both of Kittanning, were arrested after the women put $630 worth of clothing inside a diaper bag and tried to walk out of the J.C. Penney store in the Clearview Mall, Center Township. Police also found drug paraphernalia in their possession.8:45 p.m. Thursday — Keith Gary, 22, of Butler Township was arrested by state police at his residence in Old Plank Estates on felony charges of possession with the intent to deliver, and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.Gary, who was arraigned and released on $25,000 unsecured bail, was arrested as part of a December 2006 drug investigation.12:30 a.m. Friday — Jeffrey Snyder Anthony, 26, of Chicora lost control of his 2003 Toyota Tacoma Truck on Oak Road in Donegal Township, which struck an embankment and a tree before coming to rest on its roof. Anthony, who was not injured and was not wearing a seat belt, fled the scene. State police charged him with immediate notice of an accident to police, driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed, and registration and certificate of title required.Thursday — An unknown person stole the credit card number and account information of Brian Workley, 31, of Franklin Township to make purchases in Malaysia.12:30 a.m. Friday — Amber Fuhrer, 24, of Chicora lost control of her 2000 Chevrolet Malibu on Route 268 in Fairview Township while making a turn. The vehicle struck an embankment and crossed onto Route 68, where it struck a tree. Fuhrer was not hurt but was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.8 a.m. Friday — Debra Marinello, 53, of Boyers lost control of her 1995 Oldsmobile 88 on Route 38 in Clay Township. The car struck a utility pole.Marinello, who was not hurt, was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
