CRANBERRY TWP — The Butler Health System Foundation raised more than $101,000 at this year's Crystal Ball fundraiser on March 10 at the Pittsburgh Marriott North.
The sixth annual ball was the most successful held to date, and featured the theme, "Viva Las Vegas," with more than 370 guests playing casino games, eating a buffet and dancing to Sputzy and The Soul Providers.
Karen Smaldino, wife of Dr. Tony Smaldino, a Butler podiatrist, was chairwoman.
The foundation plans to use the money raised to buy a new breast biopsy machine for Butler Memorial Hospital's Women's Imaging Center.
