Applications are now being accepted for the Leadership Butler County program for the 2007-2008 year.

Leadership Butler County – the county's only leadership development program – is a nine-month training program that unites perspectives of local, regional and national business speakers, authorities on local issues, area volunteers, and beneficiaries of countywide programs and services. Each class, limited to 20 individuals, is made up of a unique mix of private, public and non-profit professionals. An affiliate program of the Butler County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Butler County also works in partnership with the Cranberry Area Chamber of Commerce, Slippery Rock University, Butler County Community College and the United Way of Butler County.

The 2007-2008 Leadership class will begin in September, 2007, and will cover issues and topics including Human Services & Volunteerism, The Legal System, The Political Process & The Media, The Education System, Health Care, Southern Butler County Day, Northern Butler County Day, Quality of Life & Tourism, Team Building, Presentation Skills, Life Skills and Public Speaking. In addition, the class participates in a unique Executive Leadership Challenge at Slippery Rock University.

Classmates graduating from the program become part of a select network of professionals that develop a strong sense of ownership, responsibility and commitment to the common good of Butler County.

The following professionals make up the current 2006-2007 Leadership Butler County Class. These individuals will graduate from the program on June 20, 2007, during the Leadership Graduation Ceremony and United Way Annual Meeting to be held at BC3's Founders Hall.
