Ray Cumberland
Ray B. Cumberland, 91, of Alameda Road died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Born June 22, 1915, in Concord Township, he was the son of E.U. and Anna Thompson Cumberland.
Mr. Cumberland had been an owner/operator for the P. & R. Trucking Co.
He was a member of the Hannahstown Road Baptist Church, Cabot. He also was a minister and had preached at the Calvary Baptist, the Mt. Zion Baptist and the Whitestown Road Baptist churches,
During World War II, he served in the Army.
He is survived by four sons and their wives, Marshall and Connie Cumberland of Van Burren, Ohio, Garry and Evelyn Cumberland of Butler, Terry and Nancy Cumberland of Kingwood, W. Va., and Mark and Cindy Cumberland of Chicora; five daughters, Janet Lepley, Mrs. James (Dianna) Hortert and Mrs. David (Sharron) Pengryn, all of Butler, Raylene Bachman of Virginia Beach, Va., and Robin Cumberland of Butler.
Also surviving are 36 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren and by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline E. Stevenson Cumberland, who died Oct. 16, 1998; a grandson; a sister, and six brothers.

North St.Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Whitestown Road Baptist Church, 409 Whitestown Road, with the Rev. Terry Cumberland, pastor of the Independent Baptist Church of Kingwood, Kingwood, W. Va., and the Rev.
