McCurdy

Mary E. McCurdy, 79, of Butler died at 11:10 a.m. Monday at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.

Born Oct. 11, 1927, in Turtle Creek, she was the daughter of Paul W. and Virginia C. Cooper Bartley.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society at Shelbourne Assisted Living in Butler. She enjoyed flowers, birds and travel.

She had worked at the Union National Bank and then retired from Montgomery Ward in 1989.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Sharon) Standish of Butler; two sons and daughters-in-law, Zane and Mary McCurdy and Brian and Kathy McCurdy, all of Butler; and six grandchildren, Catlan, Maxwell, Nicholas, Dana and Wesley McCurdy and Jonathan Standish.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. McCurdy, who died Sept. 7, 1995, and by a brother, Stanley P. Bartley.

<B>MCCURDY </B>— Friends of Mary E. McCurdy, who died Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Sue Mayer, chaplain of Shelbourne Assisted Living, officiating.
