WINNING ATTITUDE

Brian Minto
Athletics, sports have had major impact on my life

Athletics have impacted my life in many ways.

First, athletics gave me many visions or dreams of becoming a champion at whatever sport that I competed in.

Second, it gave me motivation and confidence in myself, which is important to become successful in whatever you choose as a profession.

However, the most important thing it has shown me is never to give up on anything in life. Always believe in yourself and never listen to anyone who tells you that you can't do something.

And if you fail, never get discouraged because there is no effort without error.

Sports benefited me in many ways as a child. It has given me the opportunity to meet a lot of kids of the same interest and become friends with them. It also taught me how to respect authority figures such as coaches or other leaders.

Sports have also taught me that nothing comes easy. You have to practice to better yourself. And as a child, sports taught me that losing is not the end of the world. As an adult, sports revealed to me a lot of things about myself — that I could do anything I wanted or dreamed of doing. I am living proof of that.I believe sports can help develop anyone as a person in many different ways. Sports can tell you a lot about your character, how much heart and determination you possess. Also it shows what things an athlete needs to work on mentally and physically.A parent can be a big help to children by helping them with their confidence and by supporting them in whatever sport they choose to play or compete in.And parents should never live their dreams through their children in sports. It will only push them away from the sport.
