The Slippery Rock University women's softball team recently returned from Florida with a 6-6 record.

Two of SRU's losses were to nationally ranked opponents.

The Rock's biggest win was a 4-0 shutout over Nebraska-Omaha, ranked No. 21 in the country entering that contest.

Sophomore third baseman Lindsay Rodgers leads SRUregulars with a .444 batting average. Junior outfielder Emily Novitsky is batting .421 and junior shortstop Stacey Rhoades is hitting .389 with two home runs.

Freshman designated hitter Jessica Kortz leads SRUwith nine RBI. Senior Courtney Conron leads the pitching staff with a 3-2 record and 3.71 earned run average.

The Rock travels to Howard University in Washington, D.C., and Bowie State (Md.) for doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday.

SRUbegins the home schedule with a 3:30 p.m. twinbill Tuesday against Ursuline (Ohio)College.
