Josephine F. Kemper
Josephine F. Kemper, 101, of Butler died at 12:35 a.m. Sunday at the Sunnyview Home.
Born Nov. 28, 1905, in Butler, she was the daughter of Louis and Barbara Geibel Kemper.
She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.
Miss Kemper had been the manager of the P.H. Butler Store and also had worked for her brother at Kempers Market. After the store closed, she worked in the accounting department at the Butler Memorial Hospital, where she retired in 1968 but continued to work off and on until 1973.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles and cryptoquotes, sewing, crocheting, working in the garden and growing flowers and traveling with her friends.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Agnes Wright of Butler; and nieces and nephews, Louise Black, Louis Kemper, Joan Kriley, Robert Wright, Patricia Gilliland and David Wright all of Butler and Richard Kemper of Columbus, S.C.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister; and three brothers, Louis, Karl and Eugene Kemper.
