Osche

CRANBERRY TWP — Leslie Osche of Meridian, executive director of The United Way of Butler County, was presented the annual Women of Legacy Award by the Butler Health System during its Crystal Ball held March 10.

Through her work at the United Way, Osche helped to develop a community solutions assessment. The program expands on Butler Memorial Hospital's community health assessments, a report created every two years to determine the health of the community and needed services. The expanded assessments partner the hospital's findings with the Butler Collaborative for Families and the United Way to report on both health and social needs in the community.

"(Osche) so clearly sees how the health and social components of care dovetail into one another and how important it is to have a coordinated approach to community issues," said BMH administrator Stephanie Roskovski in a press release.

Osche serves on the board of directors for The United Way of Pennsylvania, the Butler County Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Butler County; the advisory board of Butler County Community Action, the Butler Emergency Relief Initiative and the Emergency Food and Shelter Board; and the public relations committee of the Community Development Corporation. She also serves on the facilities committee of the Community Health Clinic and is active with the Butler Collaborative for families.

Amember of the Rotary Club of Butler, she is the recipient of the 2000 Distinguished Service Award for Butler County and the 2002 International Athena Award, presented by National City Bank and the Chamber of Commerce.

Osche belongs to Trinity Lutheran Church. She resides in Meridian with her husband James and their sons Joshua and Nathan. Another son, Zachary, is deceased.

The Women of Legacy Award was created in memory of Catherine Mae DiCuccio by her son Dr. William DiCuccio. The award is presented annually to a woman who has contributed to the health and well-being of Butler County.
