George F. Mennor
George F. Mennor, 86, of Colonia, N.J., died Tuesday at Haven Hospice in Edison, N.J.
A native of Worthington, he served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and spent 26 months in India. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars and Distinguished Unit Badge.
Mr. Mennor lived in Cleveland before moving to Colonia 47 years ago.
He had been a manager in office and administrative systems management for the BOC Group, formerly Airco, in Murray Hill, N.J., for 35 years.
After his retirement, he volunteered more than 5,000 hours at the JFK Medical Center in Edison over the past 10 years. He previously had been a volunteer at the St. Vincent Health Center in Erie for 2½ years.
He was a member of the AARP Colonia Chapter 3059.
His beloved wife, Marian L. Kimmy, died in 1986.
Surviving are his children, Thomas and Michael Mennor; Robert Mennor and his wife Erin; Sister Patricia Mennor, a Sister of Charity; Karen Kilduff and her husband, John; Diane Janasie; Kathy Mennor and Kevin Mennor; and seven grandchildren. He also is survived by a sister, Mary Bandura.
<B>MENTOR </B>— Friends of George F. Mennor, who died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the <B>Walter J. Johnson Funeral Home</B>, 803 Raritan Road, Clark, N.J.Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, then to St. John Vianney Church, Colonia, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m.Burial will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
