Gladys L. Groom
Gladys L. Groom, 86, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Concord Township, died at 10:10 p.m. Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born March 13, 1920, in Allegheny Township, she was the daughter of Orrie H. Stowe and Isabelle Blair Stowe.
She was a member of the Concord Presbyterian Church, where she was an elder and a deacon. She also was a former member of the Rebeka Lodge in West Sunbury. She enjoyed flowers, watching birds and the outdoors.
She is survived by a daughter, Rita Patchin of Butler; two sons, Dale E. Groom of St. Petersburg and Bruce D. Groom of North Washington; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Buchanan of Pittsburgh and Mary Riddle of Clintonville; a brother, James Stowe of Eau Claire; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Edward Cooper Groom, who died May 2, 1985; a daughter; a grandson, and a brother.
<B>GROOM</B> — Friends of Gladys L. Groom, who died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, West Sunbury. Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the Concord Presbyterian Church.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Robert V.
