Arblaster

Effie Loretta Arblaster, 95, of Slippery Rock Township died at 8:54 a.m. Monday at the Grove City Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in West Liberty, July 15, 1911, she was the daughter of Earl Frederick Gurney and Elzena Badger.

She was a homemaker and had owned and operated Arblaster's Kennel in Slippery Rock Township.

Mrs. Arblaster was a member of the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the Women's' Bible Study Group.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, William F. "Bill" and Nell Arblaster of Slippery Rock; and five grandchildren, Susan Holtz and her husband, George, of Slippery Rock, Cheri Fisher and her husband, Michael, of Ellwood City, William Arblaster and Ron Arblaster and his wife, Jacqualin, all of Slippery Rock and Cindy Arblaster-Griest and her husband, Timothy, of Greensburg.

Also surviving are 16 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.

Her husband, Charles Henry Arblaster, whom she married Oct. 27, 1930, died May 24, 1998. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Helen Marie; three sisters, Martha, Luella and Hazel; and two brothers, Arthur and Ralph.

<B>ARBLASTER </B>— Friends of Effie Loretta Arblaster, who died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Pamela Gardner, her church pastor, officiating.Burial will be at the Slippery Rock Cemetery.
