Agnes Eichenlaub, 83, formerly of Geibel Road, died Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born May 29, 1923, in Bredinville, Butler Township, she was a daughter of Stephen and Helen Bezek Varhola.

She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.

Mrs. Eichenlaub enjoyed sewing crocheting and taking care of her family. She also was an avid vegetable gardener.

Surviving are two sons, Dr. David A. Eichenlaub of Lewistown, Pa., and John V. Eichenlaub of Cabot; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Carol) Smith and Mrs. Charles (Linda) McFadden, both of Butler; nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. A sister, Anna Batko of Altoona, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Her husband, Elmer F. Eichenlaub, whom she married Dec. 30, 1942, died Oct. 16, 2006. She also was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

<B>EICHENLAUB </B>— Friends of Agnes Eichenlaub, who died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with her nephew, Monsignor Russell Duker, pastor of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Pittsburgh, officiating.
