LEARNING ABOUT SLAVERY
John Mattox, left, curator of the Underground Railroad Museum in Flushing, Ohio, shows eighth graders Friday at Mars Middle School a musical instrument used by slaves in the 1800s. The instrument was among the items Mattox brought from his museum, which features an extensive collection of publications, books and memorabilia to portray what is known about slavery and the Underground Railroad in Ohio.
