Elmer Scherder
Elmer Scherder, 61, of Port Orange, Fla., formerly of the Eau Claire-Six Points area, died Thursday morning at his home after a long illness.
Born May 1, 1945, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Elmer P. and Violet Preece Scherder.
He had attended school in the Butler School District.
Mr. Scherder was an electrician and worked on electrical systems in deep coal mines of Butler County. He also operated the former Cherry Valley Delite Restaurant for a time.
Mr. Scherder was a Protestant.
He was an avid motorcycle owner and enthusiast most of his adult life. He also enjoyed motorboating.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Patterson Scherder; a daughter, Heather Scherder of Port Orange; three sons, Elmer Scherder of Parker, Tommy Scherder of Butler and Travis Scherder of Florida; and eight grandchildren.
He also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Shirley) Blauser of Six Points and Agnes "Maggie" Toth of Petrolia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A son, Chris, preceded him in death.
<B>SCHERDER </B>— There will be no visitation. A memorial service for Elmer Scherder, who died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, will be held later in Florida at the convenience of the family.
