The Saxonburg Borough Council on Wednesday:• Approved a new ordinance regulating development to prevent stormwater infiltration into the sanitary system.• Appointed Gregory Clifford of Middlesex Township to fill the unexpired term of Dave McMaster on the Saxonburg Area Authority. His term ends December 2008.
The Harmony Borough Council on Tuesday:• Agreed to promote public works employee Frank Grannon from part-time to full-time.
The Lancaster Township supervisors on Wednesday:• Awarded road material contracts. The township will buy assorted types of limestone and gravel from Quality Aggregates in Pittsburgh, A.R. Oliastro in Ellwood City and McClymonds Supply and Transit in Portersville. It will buy pipe from Welsh Equipment in Prospect, cold patch from Hileman Paving Specialty, diesel fuel from Reed Oil in New Castle and road oil from Glenn O Hawbaker inButler• Accepted Ron Kniess' resignation from the zoning hearing board• Agreed to apply for a $2,200 county parks grant for wood chip-like material for a playground.
