Betty Jean Krause, 83, of the Sunnyview Home, formerly of Prospect, died late Sunday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born June 17, 1923, in Butler, she was the daughter of Albert and Celia Bellis Stephenson.

She had been a cook at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the Garden Gate Restaurant in Prospect and the Passavant Retirement Home in Zelienople.

She was a Protestant, and she enjoyed watching TV, collecting dolls and baking holiday cookies.

Surviving are a son, Harold "Lee" Krause; a grandson; and a sister, Mrs. Joe (Laura) Herold, all are of Butler.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters and a granddaughter.
