Slippery Rock High's Kyle Hawk set a school record of 1 minute, 4.34 seconds while placing 12th in the 100-yard backstroke at the District 10 championship meet Saturday

Hawk bested his previous record by more than two seconds.

The Rockets' Andrew Opalewski placed 12th with a 24.38 in the 50 freestyle and a 54.68 in the 100 freestyle.

Hawk, Opalewski, Caleb Sykora-Bodie and Chuck Davies placed 11th in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:45.96. The 400 freestyle relay unit was 10th with a time of 4:04.66.

On the girls side, the Rockets' 400 freestyle relay team of Vicky Kosiorek, Hannah Parsons, Whitney Snyder and Katelyn Brozenic placed 13th in 4:37.05. Alyssa Martinez replaced Kosiorek on the 200 freestyle relay team, which was 15th in 2:04.61.

Kosiorek was 21st in the 100 backstroke in 1:13.24 and 17th in the 100 butterfly in 1:12.50. Parsons was 20th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:21.69.

Slippery Rock's boys finished 11th overall while the girls finished 17th.
