Avanelle Ruth Gilmore Keitzer, 87, of Mercer died at 1:04 p.m. Saturday at Grove City Medical Center.

Born May 23, 1919, in Butler, she was the daughter of Clifford E. Payne and Sarah J. Schaffer.

She had been an assistant manager at G.C. Murphy, and was a former member of Eastern Star in Butler. She enjoyed gardening.

She was a member of Slippery Rock United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her first husband, Harry B. Gilmore Sr., who died in 1965; her second husband, Edward J. Keitzer, who died in 2005, and a son, Harry B. Gilmore Jr.

She is survived by a son, Ron Gilmore and his wife, Sharon, of New Castle; two sisters, Eleanor Allen of Akron, Ohio, and Mary Payne of Harrisville; four grandchildren, Sean and Stephanie Gilmore, both of Fanwood, N.J., and Danny and Leslie McCue, both of New Castle; and two great-grandchildren, Jenson and Nicholas McCue, both of New Castle.

<B>Keitzer</B> — Friends of Avanelle Ruth Gilmore Keitzer, who died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at <B>R. Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle PA16105.Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Pamela Gardner of Slippery Rock United Methodist Church officiating.Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park.
