RALEIGH, N.C. — One day after a teammate pitched a no-hitter, Liz Pittman did one better.

The sophomore right-hander tossed a five-inning perfect game, striking out 10, as the Slippery Rock University softball team blanked Shaw University 10-0 Thursday afternoon in the second game of a doubleheader.

On Wednesday, Courtney Conron pitched a five-inning no-hitter against Johnson C. Smith University.

Sophomore Lindsay Rodgers gave Pittman more than enough run support Thursday with a three-run home run.

Freshman Danielle Abbarno hit a grand slam in the first game against Shaw University, a 12-2 win.
