Elizabeth M. "Betty" Craig, 80, of Chicora died at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital after an illness.

Born in Chicora, April. 29, 1926, she was the daughter of Charles L. and Bertha Hilgar Barnhart.

She was a member of Chicora United Methodist Church, where she taught Bible school for several years and was a member of the choir. She was a charter member of the Chicora Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Craig enjoyed crocheting and reading.

Surviving are her husband, Richard L. Craig Sr., whom she married Sept. 7, 1946; four sons, Richard L. Jr., Danny and Scott Craig, all of Chicora, and Charles Craig of Natrona Heights; and nine grandchildren.

She also is survived by a brother, Dale "Bud" Barnhart of Chicora; a stepbrother, Oscar C. Moore Jr. of Chicora; a stepsister, Doris McGrady of Sumpter, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

<B>CRAIG </B>— Friends of Elizabeth M. "Betty" Craig, who died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at <B>STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Glea Foster, her church pastor, officiating.Burial will be at Hemphill Cemetery, Chicora.
