Robert J. Heeter
Robert Joseph "Bob" Heeter, 72, of Acworth, Ga., died Jan. 20.
Born July 7, 1934, in Butler, he was the son of Colonel Charles and Gonzaga Amelia Brehm Heeter.
He attended grade school at St. Peter Catholic School and graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1953.
Mr. Heeter served as a master sergeant in the Marine Corps from 1957-62 and then was an aircraft mechanic with Delta Air Lines from 1960-94.
In retirement, he joined the North Atlanta O Gauge Club and was chairman of the traveling children's train layout.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Janet Carol Chadderton Heeter; a daughter and her husband, Valarie Lynne and J. Geoffrey Swope of Fort Worth, Texas; a son and his wife, Steven Robert and Melissa Anna Groulx Heeter of Rydal, Ga; a stepson, Tarmon Kelling of Atlanta, Ga.; and three sisters, Kathleen Anna Margolin, Patricia Ellen Shea, and Antoinette Torres; and a brother, Colonel Charles Heeter.
He also is survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
<B>HEETER</B> — A memorial service for Robert Joseph Heeter, who died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, was held Jan. 24 at the First Baptist Church of Woodstock, Ga.
