Jackie L. Hepler
Jackie Lee "Jack" Hepler, 71, of Oil City, formerly of Chicora, died at 9:25 a.m. Wedn-esday at his home after an illness.
Born May 20, 1935, on his family's farm in Kaylor near Chicora, he was the son of David Lee and Bernice Kamerer Hepler.
He attended the Mesa Community College in Arizona and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Hepler was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1216 in Mesa and was employed at the Penn Drake Refinery, now Pennzoil, in Karns City for 18 years.
He had been affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Oil City.
He enjoyed photography, working with computers, hunting and making ceramics.
Surviving are his longtime companion, Mary Ellen England of Oil City; three daughters and their husbands, Jacqueline J. and Robert Jordan of Fairmount City, Clarion County, Judith and David Wilfong of Emlenton and Jennifer Hepler-Kropp and Barry Kropp, of Gilbert, Ariz.; a stepson and his wife, William and Peggy Hale of Franklin; and a stepdaughter, Melissa Brown of Oil City.
He also is survived by nine grandchildren, Kevin, Lee and Daniel Jordan, Jessica, Rebecca, Russell and David Brandon, Jenna Buckles and Megan Santos; four great-grandchildren, Sierra and Carson Brandon and Clifford and Eric Anthony; and six stepgrandchildren, Andrew, Shawn and Ashley Hale, Misty, Dylan and Rodger Brown; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Hepler, and a sister, Lucille Rouschenberger.
<B>HEPLER</B> — Friends of Jackie Lee "Jack" Hepler, who died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Hile Funeral Home</B>, 802 Grove St., St. Petersburg.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Chamberlain, pastor of the Franklin Church of the Nazarene, officiating.Burial with military honors will be at the St. Petersburg Cemetery, Clarion County.
