The following Ash Wednesday services will be held today:

Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, Butler Township will host an Ash Wednesday service at 7:30 p.m.

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will host a service with Holy Communion at 7:30 p.m.

First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, Route 8 at Heckert Road, will hold an Ash Wednesday service at 7:30 p.m.

Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, will host a 7 p.m. Ash Wednesday service.

Mars United Presbyterian Church, Crowe Avenue, will host a Communion service at 7 p.m.

Oak Hills Christian Church, Old Plank and Township Line Roads, Butler Township, will host a service and distribution of ashes at 7 p.m.

Saxonburg Memorial United Presbyterian Church, Main Street, Saxonburg, will host an Ash Wednesday service at 7:30 p.m.

St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will host an Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. The service will include Holy Communion and the imposition of ashes.

St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St., will host a service with Communion and the imposition of ashes at 7:30 p.m.

Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Dr., Jefferson Township, will host an Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. For information or directions, call 724-287-2378.

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will host a service with Communion and the distribution of ashes at 7 p.m.

Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave., Butler Township, will hold an Ash Wednesday Communion service at 7 p.m. for local Presbyterian churches. Music will be provided by combined church choirs. A cookie reception will follow. Participating churches include Covenant, Meridian and St. Andrews.

Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia, will host a community Ash Wednesday service at 7:30 p.m. Congregations of Valencia United Methodist Church and Mars United Methodist Church will participate. Communion will be served and ashes will be received. Nursery care will be available for children age 5 and younger.

West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church, 215 E. Church St., West Sunbury, will host an Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. The service will feature the imposition of ashes and an opportunity to visually prepare for the season of Lent by leaving sins at the foot of the cross.
