Mary Ann McNaughton

Mary Ann McNaughton, 83, of Prospect died Wednesday at the Evergreen Nursing Center in Harmony after an illness.

Born July 2, 1923, in Donora, Westmorland County, she was the daughter of Alexander Campbell Eller and Gertrude Fidelis Hayes Eller.

She was a member of St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Prospect, where she attended daily Mass until she was no longer able to do so. She was a devout and humble person.

She loved to cook and eat and enjoyed outings at the Garden Gate and especially coconut cream pie.

During World War II, she served in the Army Nurse Corps.

Mrs. McNaughton had retired from the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Her husband, Joseph McNaughton, whom she married July 2, 1949, died July 28, 1984.

Surviving are her caretaker, Paul "Doc" Doctor; a sister, Myrtle Pickard; a sister-in-law, Georgina McNaughton Leighty; and several nieces and nephews in Beaver County, Florida, Cleveland, Chicago, St Louis, Wisconsin and California.

<B>MCNAUGHTON </B>— Friends of Mary Ann McNaughton, who died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>Jay Bryan Funeral Home</B>, 443 Main St., Prospect.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Prospect, with the. Rev. Matthew Tosello officiating.Burial will be at the Crown Hill Cemetery, Prospect.The rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
