Tiffany Corle had 16 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots and Mackenzie Shirey added 12 points as the Union girls basketball team held off Keystone 43-42 in the inaugural KSAC Championship game Saturday at Clarion High School.

Jessica Bifano and Sam Schwabenbauer had 11 points each for the Panthers.

Despite the win, Union (22-3) connected on just 18 of 40 free-throw attempts.

He did not wrestle in the final match against West Mifflin, instead going to the hospital to be checked out for further observation after wrestling four matches had taken its toll.A win by McLaughlin against Hopewell, which was the last weight class of the bout, would have given Butler the win, but a weakened McLaughlin allowed a takedown with seven seconds left.A vigorous scramble by McLaughlin to try to escape left the wrestler tapped out."He was very gallant in his effort," said Stoner.
