Michael M. Thomas

Michael M. Thomas, 75, of Butler died at 5:05 p.m. Monday in the Good Samaritan Hospice unit at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot,

Born in Pittsburgh, Sept. 11, 1931, he son of Guiseppi and Guiseppina Tedesco Tomasso.

He lived in Butler from 1980 to 2006 and had worked out of the bricklayers union in Pittsburgh until his retirement.

Mr. Thomas was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was a former member of the Whitestown Baptist Church and was involved with the food cupboard at the church. He enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are two stepdaughters, Mrs. Eugene (Margaret) Wojnar of Bakerstown and Mrs. Daniel (Donna) Kane of Apollo; two stepsons, George Shook of Aspinwall and the Rev. David M. Walters of Fenelton; 10 step-grandchildren, and 14 step-great-grandchildren.

He also is survived by an aunt and several nieces and nephews.

His wife, Betty Jane Thomas, whom he married Sept. 3, 1971, died in April 1999. He also was preceded in death a great-granddaughter, a brother and a sister.

<B>THOMAS</B> — There will be no visitation. Private burial for Michael M. Thomas, who died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, will be at the Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery, Saxonburg.Private services will be held at St. John's Reformed Church, Chicora, with his stepson, the Rev. David Walters, officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice, 3500 Brooktree Road, Suite 320, Wexford, PA 15090.Arrangements are being handled by the <B>Thomas M. Steighner Funeral Home</B>, Chicora.
