Addison Q. "AQ" Wettlaufer, 88, formerly of New Castle, died Sunday at the Passavant Retirement and Health Center, Zelienople.

Born Feb. 9, 1918, in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of Leonard A. and Hazel C. Quisno Wettlaufer.

He was a graduate of Port Clinton High School in Ohio and received a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Toledo.

Mr. Wettlaufer retired as an electrical engineer for the Pennsylvania Power Co. after 41 years. He belonged to the Professional Engineers in Ohio and Pennsylvania and was a member of the Penn Power Men's Club.

He served his country in World War II as a captain in the Army Air Force.

He lived with his wife and children in New Castle for 40 years before retiring to Zelienople. During his retirement, he was active in several activities including bridge playing, a model train club and, most of all, being a welcomed visitor at any occasion.

He was a 50-year member of King Solomon Lodge 56 in Elyria, Ohio, and the Valley of New Castle Consistory, where he belonged to the Legion of Honor.

He also was a 50-year member of the New Castle Chapter 105 of the Order of Eastern Star and had served as a past grand patron of the O.E.S. for the State of Pennsylvania.

Surviving are two children, Barbara E. "Bonnee" (Rich) Kuroski and a son, Thomas A. (Susan Tice) Wettlaufer and their respective families; two grandsons, Thomas and Eric Wettlaufer; four step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

He also is survived by a brother-in-law, Robert Armbruster; cousins, Lois Held and Jack Quisno; and six nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by Bonnee and Tom's mother, Dorothy E. (Pontious); and a sister, Grace Armblaster Geannette.

<B>WETTLAUFER </B>— Friends of Addison Q. Wettlaufer, who died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Seaman Memorial Chapel, Passavant Health Center, 401 S. Main St., Zelienople.Burial will be at noon Saturday at the Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, beside his loving and devoted wife.Masonic and Eastern Star services will be held Thursday evening at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvin Presbyterian Church, 415 E.
